Our team are proud to have delivered the first public leisure centre for the people of Ingleby Barwick.
The £12m centre, which will boast swimming pools, a health and fitness suite, gym and a library, is located on the All Saints Academy site opened in summer 2020.
Operated by Tees Active Leisure, which already operates three centres in the area on behalf of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, the centre will make a huge difference, being located in the heart of its community. Local people who currently have to travel elsewhere to access leisure centres, will finally have outstanding leisure facilities on their doorstep.
Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Housing, said:
“We can’t wait to see this project brought to life because we know how much the local community are looking forward to having these top-class leisure facilities and new library on their doorstep. It’s another great example of how we are investing across the Borough.”
Anthony Dillon, managing director for Willmott Dixon in the north, said:
"As one of the UK's largest constructors of leisure centres, we'll be bringing all our experience to ensure this is a fantastic facility for local residents, as well as ensuring that we use local companies wherever possible to help support jobs in Ingleby Barwick."
