We have created a new waste recycling centre for the borough of Hounslow, to reduce waste going to landfill and allow for more recycling. The project consisted of the construction of a waste processing building including;
- specialist plant,
- vehicle maintenance workshop
- office building
- fire command centre
- weigh bridge
This new site will save over 15,000 tonnes of waste in the borough from going to landfill as part of the ‘curb side’ recycling programme launched within the area.
Facilities include:
- Pumphouse and valve house
- Large building with 4 lorry bays
- Two conveyor belts
- Vehicle maintenance building
- Two water towers
- Quarantine building
The council aims to increase the amount of waste recycled from 31% to 50% by 2019.
Roger Forsdyke, managing director of Willmott Dixon in South London and the Southern Counties said,
“We are delighted to have created this new waste recycling depot for the borough of Hounslow, helping it to save money, and by reducing landfill waste, helping the environment too.”
