Alongside his role at the Zero Carbon Hub, David has held several senior industry positions, during which time he developed and promoted the 'Pay As You Save' / 'Green Deal' low energy financing concepts for upgrading energy efficiency of existing homes.
Rob Lambe, head of Re-Thinking, said, “With many clients wanting effective solutions to their long-term requirements to have energy efficient commercial and residential properties, David brings considerable ‘fire power’ to our low carbon capability across the entire Group. It will help us developthe answers our clients’ need to mitigate their growing exposure to the financial burden of increasing energy prices, carbon taxation and fuel poverty.”
As Head of Retrofit, David will oversee Willmott Dixon’s strategy, engaging at political level with decision makers and bringing together RSLs, local authorities and private sector organisations with the relevant funding opportunities to pump-prime improvements. It will enable Willmott Dixon to provide the design, delivery and project management and aftercare skills for future retrofit programmes.
David's arrival follows the recent appointment of Carl Buckingham as head of energy and sustainability for the Group’s Support Services division. Carl joins from URS and will oversee the division’s energy and low carbon strategy as part of a Group-wide commitment to become a carbon neutral business by 2012.
